The Centre Equestre Boutou is literally 10 minutes walk away along the beautiful ,wooded Route de Diligence which, incidentally, is worth a visit in its own right with obstacles for children, ancient caves, bats and climbing walls, not to mention the easy access to shallow parts of the river for a paddle – a firm family favourite and best of all, absolutely free.
Cycling is very popular in the area and within walking distance of Esmeralda is Location VTT, where you can hire bikes or be taken to altitude to enjoy several hours of pure descent.
Colourful fairs and markets are a regular occurrence and fishing, walking, canoeing, rafting, kayaking and golfing are all professionally catered for.
Hikers love this area and many walks can be undertaken either from Maison Esmeralda or within a very short drive; we have maps for many of these which you can use to plan your day.
We have details available for all these activities and more and the tourist office at Massat is very friendly and informative.

There is absolutely no reason to be bored at Esmeralda; the only question is how to fit in everything you’d like to do.
